After arriving one month early, then on a day when nothing was happening, I finally struck lucky on Sunday where there was a full afternoon of leaping bikes to enjoy. The riders are not only insane, they must be very fit; because races last for up to one hour, which is a long time to spend bouncing around with a face full of mud.
The mud and the dust removed the colour from the bikes and riders, making their photos rather sombre; but here are few anyway:

I had taken my drone a month ago to get a shot of the track…….

….but decided to leave it at home for the main event; the prospect of Spike’s flying machine crashing into a bunch of riders in front of millions of TV viewers was not worth the risk. But one of the TV stations had a big drone covering the action:

Once again the E-M1 demonstrated that it was capable of capturing moving targets. I took the Panasonic 100-300mm lens, but only one of the above are shot with it; the rest were using the Panasonic 35-100mm F2.8 which Kevin left with me to “keep in storage” until he returns to Thailand; but I thought it best to bring it out for a play in case the focus ring seized up or something. Thanks Kevin.
